The Victoria Athletic Association is a senior sports club that operates year round supporting teams throughout the Greater Victoria Area. The A’s are sponsors of: 9 winter soccer teams; 5 summer fastball teams; as well as many other sporting organizations in our area. Soccer for Afghanistan
Thomas of the Div 4 Men’s team hoping to set up a delivery of some used soccer equipment to support needy children in Afghanistan.
If you have any old balls, nets, cleats, jerseys, etc. that you would be willing to donate, please contact Thomas to arrange a pick up.
Please bring your old nets to the next Board meeting on Aug 11th

Summer Event: Volleyball Night & Softball Awards Thursday Aug 21st Strathcona Hotel—Maple Room.
A’s Rooftop Volleyball night and Softball Awards.
Awards will be given out between 6 and 7pm. We have the volleyball courts on the roof from 7pm to 10pm.
Summer Teams: Please forward the names of your 2 award winners ASAP (usually MVP and Most Inspirational) so we can have awards made up. |

Summer Event: Indoor Tourney (Oak Bay Turf) Saturday September 13th Oak Bay Rec Centre.
The club has rented the Oak Bay turf for a fun, co-ed soccer tourney on Saturday, September 13th from 10:30am-3:00pm.
We encourage members of both summer and winter teams to sign up—it should be a lot of fun! Cost will be $10 per person, and you may sign up as a single or as a team. Friends and family are more than welcome to play!

Summer Team fees are due no later than our September Executive meeting. Fines will be levied for late payment, so please get these in ASAP. |

Men’s Div 5 Try Outs
The new A’s Div 5 Men’s Soccer Team is putting out a call for any new members who would like to try out.

LOCATION: ARDMORE GOLF COURSE 930 Ardmore Drive, Sidney, B.C. DATE: Sunday, August 31, 2008 TEE-OFF TIME: 3:00 pm
Cost: $50.00 per person for Golf and Dinner
